Choir Master & Organist

Since the founding of the Methodist Church here in Sidwell Street, music lead by the Choir has formed an important part of its life; in fact at one time, due to the limited number of choir seats, there was a waiting list to join the choir.

These days there is an active choir of 18 members singing in four parts a repertoire ranging from Orlando Gibbons to John Rutter with everything in between; not to mention such gems as Rock Around The Clock and The Runaway Train at Harvest Suppers and social evenings.

The Friday rehearsals are a time of great fun and fellowship,  and sometimes we even get the music right as well !!! Another joy these days, is that we're often joined by other musicians on various instruments which adds another dimension to our worship.

We sing an anthem on most Sundays and a Cantata on Palm Sunday and special occasions.

At our Centenary,  reopening and rededication we were augmented by our friends from Cataleina chamber choir and the Devon & Exeter youth brass to Sing Parry's "I Was glad" to a congregation of over 600.

Needless to say new members are always most welcome.
