Outreach in our Community

Our Methodist Church at Sidwell Street seeks to bring its mission and the message of love that Christ embodied to individuals and groups within the local community.

Monday early evenings in the Rainbow Garden, a breath of fresh air on Sidwell Street. Is open to the local Community February to October every Monday from 4pm to share practical skills and knowledge of growing fruit and vegetables. There is no charge and all helpers are welcome to take home a share of the produce.

Tuesday afternoons we have a fellowship group with a short act of Worship and speakers.

Monthly on a Wednesday evening we have a Men's Meeting with speakers and illustrated talks, sometimes chocolate cake and an annual dinner out as well as a summer time BBQ in the Rainbow Garden.
Thursday evening is Badminton Club night and

Monthly on the 1st Friday we hold a Company and Craft afternoon with tea, where we have taster sessions of different handmade items.

At Harvest and Christmas, gifts are distributed to various groups in our community.

We work with other Methodist churches to support National and International charitable work including Mission in Britain and World Missions, Methodist Homes for the Aged, Action for Children, All We Can , Christian Aid and the Francisco Rojas School in Peru.

We engage in community outreach especially with those who use our premises for their meetings and community activities like 'Love the Street'  on Saturdays and a group of Malayalam speaking people who use our hall Sundays for christian worship.

We also support Exeter Street Pastors and Exeter Network Church who hold Breakfasts for the disadvantaged and organise a debt support group for the community on our premises.
